Instructor: Mataas na Guro Stephen Joffe, is high ranking teacher or Master Instructor within the Pekiti Tirsia Kali bloodline; Pekiti Tirsia Kali is widely considered as the pre-eminent Sword & Knife fighting training method. The method is specifically based on Mastery. Stephen has earned renown as Tactical Instructor to Philippine Marine Corps; he offers 40 years of experience in martial arts & is Chief Instructor Martialworks, Boulder, Colorado.

SEMINAR CONTENT:
An introduction to Kali – a brief history of Pekiti Tirsia Kali, how it became method of choice for all Philippine Government Forces; the footwork of Kali, range control & positioning; training body mechanics, the place of the Baston & Kalis; edged weapons – the knife; training solo & partner drills, developing a skill based practice.
The days training will be structured 8am – noon, with 1hr for lunch & 1pm – 5pm with time for review & questions at days end. Training will be physically demanding, a basic level of fitness is recommended; there will be plenty of opportunity for rest & refreshment throughout the training day. Theoretical understanding of Pekiti Tirsia Kali will be addressed & emphasis placed on practical comprehension.
TRAINING EQUIPMENT:
28” rattan stick; rubber training knife; protective eyewear; supportive shoes, sunscreen, water, snacks, pen & paper.
A set of training weapons can be purchased on the day for $20 cash, includes:
1 Indonesian fire hardened rattan stick & 1 rubber training knife.
